Holiday coverage and sources

National or federal rules only. UK means England and Wales. Regional, company and exceptional holidays may differ; add those in the custom box. This is a recurring-rule calculator, not a complete historical holiday archive.

Official references: US federal holidays · UK bank holidays · Australia by state and territory · Canada federal general holidays · Germany holiday calendar. Reference links checked October 14, 2026; this does not certify every historical or future date.

For Canada, this calculator uses next-weekday substitutes as a planning convention; employer schedules may use a different day.

Random weekdays only

This version of the generator excludes Saturday and Sunday and leaves public holidays alone, which is what most people mean by "a random weekday". The weekday name is shown next to each date by default so you can see it worked.

Change what counts as a weekend

If your week runs Sunday to Thursday, untick Saturday and tick Friday. Any combination of days can be excluded, so you can just as easily generate random Mondays by excluding the other six days.

Add holidays when needed

Turn on Exclude public holidays to also skip national holidays for the US, UK, Canada, Australia or Germany. For the full working-day version with holidays on by default, use the random date generator excluding weekends and holidays.

Frequently asked questions

Does this skip public holidays?

Not by default — only weekends. Enable "Exclude public holidays" to skip them as well.

Can I generate only a specific weekday, like random Fridays?

Yes. Exclude every day except Friday in the weekend checkboxes and every result will be a Friday.

What is the default range?

Today to one year from today. Use the presets or set your own start and end dates.
