Random month and day

Sometimes the year is irrelevant: picking a random birthday for a character, choosing a date for an annual event, drawing a "day of the year" for a raffle, or generating placeholder anniversaries. This page outputs just the month and day, in either Month D or MM-DD form (change it under Output options).

February 29

The default range is the current calendar year. If you want February 29 to be a possible result, set the range to a leap year such as 2028; if you never want it, use a non-leap year.

Weekdays and holidays

Weekday and holiday exclusion still work — they are applied to the underlying full date before the year is dropped, so "random weekday in March" is one preset away. For full dates use the random date between two dates generator.

Frequently asked questions

Does it show the weekday?

It can — tick "Show weekday" under Output options — but note the weekday depends on the year used for the range.

Can I get MM/DD with a slash?

The no-year formats are "Month D" and "MM-DD". Copy the MM-DD list and replace the dash if you need a slash.
